CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - Cape Air has begun its service between Cape Girardeau and St. Louis.
The Southeast Missourian reported Monday that only a handful of passengers boarded on the first day of service Sunday.
Cape Air spokeswoman Michelle Haynes said the company is not concerned.
She said the first couple of days with a new service are typically slow.
She added that the Hyannis, Mass.-based company has opened about a dozen new markets in recent months.
Cape Air received the 2-year contract to serve Cape Girardeau on Oct. 22, giving the company only 16 days to launch operations.
