Branson W. animal park closes after permit pulled

Associated Press - November 20, 2009 10:54 PM ET

BRANSON WEST, Mo. (AP) - The Interactive Zoo and Aquarium in Branson West is closed after authorities pulled the attraction's occupancy permit.

The Stone County Sheriff's Department, the Humane Society of Missouri's Animal Cruelty Task Force and Fire Marshal David Gyger served a search warrant on the business Friday.

The Humane Society didn't remove any animals from the park formerly known as Predator World, but the fire department says it found multiple safety and electric code violations.

Sheriff Richard Hill also says the park's owner hasn't provided his department with a list of its exotic animals, as required by law.

A telephone listing could not be found for owner Breck Wakefield Friday night. A message seeking comment was left at a number for the park.
