Bowling Green can earn a Class 3 state title berth with a win at Priory on Saturday afternoon.BOWLING GREEN, Mo. (WGEM) -- Just one area team is left standing in Northeast Missouri and Bowling Green has just one step to hurdle before a trip south to the Dome.
Jimmy Tucker's squad is the lone unbeaten left in Class 3 but they're about to face a Priory squad who's on quite a run. Entering the playoffs 5-5, the Rebels have made an improbable run to the Final Four.
However so has Bowling Green and Tucker says it all started with their Regional victory over Lutheran North.
"I told our coaches I thought the biggest game was going to be our first playoff game," he said.
"Once we won that I thought the pressure was off us and now it's just trying to take it one game at a time. There is some pressure but I don't think these guys feel it, they've done a great job of taking it one game at a time."
Senior Matt Myers said, "Everything's right on our shoulders. We're the only undefeated team in the state, but it keeps getting more fun each time we win.
Saturday's game in St. Louis kicks off at 1:30pm, the winner will take on either Cassville or O'Hara in next Saturday's State Championship at the Edward Jones Dome.
