CHICAGO (AP) - Moviegoers throughout Illinois are getting a public health lesson along with their "New Moon" vampires and "2012" disasters.
The Illinois and Chicago departments of public health are airing swine flu prevention ads on more than 1,000 movie screens.
Other cities and states, too, are using movie theaters to get the word out. Health agencies in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, North Carolina, Virginia and Arizona also are putting their messages on the big screen.
The ads focus on vaccinations and proper hand washing to prevent the spread of the virus.
Swine flu cases appear to be decreasing slightly in the United States, but 43 states still are reporting widespread illness.
