CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - A man accused of robbing four Iowa banks last month will remain in federal custody after pleading not guilty to federal robbery charges.
Jason Lee Bowers entered not guilty pleas to four counts of armed bank robbery and four firearms charges Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Davenport.
His trial is set for Jan. 4.
Bowers is accused of robbing banks in Slater, St. Charles, Rippey, and Oxford between Oct. 9-21.
Bowers, whose last known address was in South Amana, was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Oct. 23 and indicted last week.
Court records says the robber displayed a gun and stole a vehicle to flee the scene in each heist.
