KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A Kansas City teenager has been charged as an adult in the Father's Day killing of a 26-year-old man.
Sixteen-year-old Dawayne L. Patterson was charged this past week in Jackson County Circuit Court with second-degree murder in the death of Eric C. Taylor.
Police reports say Taylor was struck when a passenger in another car fired into his vehicle, hitting him in the torso. A Father's Day card from his children was found in his pocket.
Patterson also has been charged with armed criminal action and illegal discharge of a firearm. His bond is set at $200,000.
