BASKETBALL
BOYS
Alex VonderHaar (QHS) -- Named QHS Thanksgiving Tournament MVP after scoring 24 points and pulling down 12 rebounds in finale against Limestone. Scored 10 points against Jacobs and tossed in 18 points, six boards against Normandy.
Anthony Bruns (QND) -- Was a constant threat all week long for the Raiders, scoring in double figures in three of the four games.
Isiah Johnson (QHS) -- Led the charge on opening night against Normandy with 21 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Added 14 points and five boards against Jacobs, then seven points against Limestone.
Zachary Main (Central) -- Scored 23 points against West Hancock in a double-overtime thriller. Had nine points against Southeastern and then 22 against Unity. Helped lead the surprising Panthers to a title match against QND, where he went for 17 against in Gully Transportation/Suns Classic loss.
Brad Hamilton (Pittsfield) -- An extremely solid way to start the season for the junior by averaging 19 points per game in the Saukees' 4-0 record at the Turkey Tournament.
Ryan Runge (West Hancock) -- Averaged nearly 14 points per game as the Titans finished third in the QND/Suns Tourney.
GIRLS
Darion Stephens (QHS) -- A 4-1 record last week which included a non-tourney win over Galesburg, has the Blue Devils off and running. Stephens poured in 15 points against the Silver Streaks, then added 18 to cap the week against Keokuk.
