Baldwin students help other kids for Angel Tree program

Quincy, IL (WGEM) -- With Christmas lists in hand, Baldwin School students did some shopping today at Quincy's Wal-Mart, all for a good cause.

The Talented and Gifted Program students from Baldwin South raised more than $1300 over the past month and a half. The students are using the money to buy presents for dozens of area kids through the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.

The students says it's fun to shop for others when you know it's helping to make a fellow kid's Christmas happier.

Miranda McRee says, "Some people don't have enough money because of job loss. They need things like this and we're here to help them."

Taylor Tweedell says, "It makes you feel good inside, because you're giving something to someone else."

This is the second year these students have adopted Angel Tree kids. They nearly doubled the money collected from last year.
