QUINCY, Ill. (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Miss Quincy Scholarship Program, a preliminary pageant to Miss Illinois and in the Miss America Organization, is seeking contestants to compete in the 2010 Miss Quincy, Miss Gem City, Miss Quincy's Outstanding Teen, Miss Quincy's Outstanding Pre-Teen and Little Miss Quincy Pageants, March 27, 2010 at the Quincy Community Theatre in Quincy, Illinois. Earn scholarship money for education and become a part of an exciting achievement program!
To be eligible, contestants for Miss Quincy must be between the ages of 17 (and at least a senior in high school)-24, a U.S. citizen, a resident or attending school in Adams, Brown, Pike, Hancock or Schuyler Counties. Contestants entering the Miss Gem City pageant can live or go to school anywhere in the state of Illinois. A $100 donation to Children's Miracle Network, the official platform of the Miss America Organization, must also be raised to compete in the local pageant. The winners of each title will compete at the Miss Illinois state competition in June in St. Charles, Illinois. To be eligible, contestants for Little Miss Quincy must be between the ages of 6-9 and a resident of Adams, Brown, Pike, Hancock or Schuyler Counties. A $25 entry fee is required to compete. Contestants for Miss Quincy's Outstanding Teen must be between the ages of 13-17 (and no older than a junior in high school) and a resident of Adams, Brown, Pike, Hancock or Schuyler Counties. The winner will compete for the title of Miss Illinois Outstanding Teen, the state preliminary to Miss America's Outstanding Teen in Orlando, Florida. To be eligible, contestants for Miss Quincy's Outstanding Pre-Teen must be between the ages of 9-12 and a resident in Adams, Brown, Pike, Hancock or Schuyler Counties. The winner will compete for the title of Miss Illinois Outstanding Pre-Teen in Springfield, Illinois in May. A $100 sponsorship fee must be obtained to compete in either pageant.
