Motorcycle swap meet helps area bikers

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -- A motorcycle swap meet today in Hannibal gave local bikers a special opportunity.

The all day event gave bikers the chance to shop great deals on everything from bike parts to leather jackets and sunglasses.

Organizers say the idea of the swap meet is for bikers from across the area to get together and save money in this tough economy

"There's a lot of motorcyclists in this area and this is an opportunity for them to be able to shop, to look at used parts, new parts, and pick up any other accessories they need before the riding season starts," said Jim Furey, organizer of the swap meet.

A portion of the proceeds from the swap meet will go to American Biker Charities which helps both veterans and children fighting cancer.
