Stephanie Harris signs her national letter of intent with the Culver-Stockton volleyball program.PAYSON, Ill. (WGEM) -- When it comes to the area's top middle hitters, Payson Seymour senior Stephanie Harris is at or near the top of that list.
On Tuesday morning, Harris agreed to continue her volleyball career at Culver-Stockton.
She finished her high school career in grand fashion playing a vital role in getting the Lady Indians to the state quarterfinals, and a 36 win campaign last fall.
Her dedication to the sport has landed her a spot with the Lady Wildcats.
"I knew this was something I always wanted to do since I started (playing volleyball) in fifth grade," she said of playing college volleyball.
"It's pretty exciting to finally be able to achieve that."
C-SC head coach Rich Meyer is eager to see Harris in Canton.
"The last year she's matured quite a bit. The ability to do alot of things, as far as offense, I think that's one of the biggest things I've noticed."
Harris added, "I played club volleyball (at Culver-Stockton) last year and I really enjoyed it. The people there are really friendly and it just felt like a good fit."
Both Meyer and Harris say getting stronger will be important heading into next fall, Harris also plans to focus on her footwork as she prepares for her freshman season.
