MOLINE, Ill. (AP) - After years of talk about such a consolidation, members of the Illinois Quad City Chamber of Commerce and the Iowa Quad City Chamber of Commerce have voted to merge into one organization.
The vote count from Wednesday's joint meeting in Moline was not immediately available.
Officials with both organizations have said unifying could help improve the Quad-Cities business environment and create jobs. A merged chamber also would increase distribution efficiency for services, they said.
Separate caucuses were held for members from each state at Wednesday's meeting.
