HANNIBAL, Mo. (WGEM)-- Area leaders and emergency agencies have just finished a meeting on the future of assistance for victim's last week's flash flood in Marion County.
A disaster declaration has been sent by Governor Nixon, and is now waiting for presidential approval.
A federal disaster declaration would mean federal money would be available to help flash flood victims pay for clean up expenses.
While waiting for approval, relief agencies say its critical that victims save receipts of anything they purchase that's flood related.
Those receipts could be used to help determine how much aid you qualify for.
WGEM's Chris Pavlish was at this morning's meeting. He'll have more from flood victims tonight on WGEM News.
