CHICAGO (AP) - Mike Bolsinger pitched into the seventh inning and hit an RBI single as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Chicago Cubs 5-2 yesterday. Bolsinger allowed one unearned run and four hits in 6 2-3 innings. He struck out seven and walked two.

DETROIT (AP) - Miguel Cabrera drove in three runs, Max Scherzer struck out 10 and the Detroit Tigers beat the Chicago White Sox 7-4 yesterday. Scherzer (2-1) allowed two runs and seven hits in six innings. The reigning AL Cy Young winner was pulled with a high pitch count.

NEW YORK (AP) - Chris Young homered to start New York's comeback as the Mets beat the St. Louis Cardinals 4-1 yesterday to send Lance Lynn to his first career loss in April. Daisuke Matsuzaka finished the four-hitter with a perfect ninth for his first save since 2000 with the Seibu Lions of Japan's Pacific League. New York took three of four from the defending NL champions and has won four of five overall.

ST. LOUIS (AP) - The Chicago Blackhawks will soon have linchpin defenseman Brent Seabrook back in the lineup. The St. Louis Blues aren't certain when captain David Backes will be ready. The Blues still have home-ice advantage in the series. Three games have been decided in overtime. Game 3 was a one-goal affair before the Blackhawks added an empty-netter.
