Danks allowed three runs and four hits in six innings in his first start since undergoing shoulder surgery in August.
CINCINNATI (AP) - Joey Votto extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a homer to help power the Cincinnati Reds to their fourth straight win with a 7-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs last night. The Reds have dominated the Cubs, winning 15 of their past 17 in the series. Chicago has lost a season-high five straight.
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Lance Lynn only gave up two hits over six innings to help the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-0. David Freese and Allen Craig each homered and drove in three runs. Last night's win was the NL Central-leading Cardinals' third in a row.
CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Bears will retire Mike Ditka's number 89 at halftime of their Monday night game against the Dallas Cowboys on December 9th. The Bears call it a fitting tribute for the player who revolutionized the tight end position and later coached the Bears to their only Super Bowl championship.
