QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - The old John Wood Community College seal featured the founder of Quincy as an elder statesman, but tuesday that changed.
JWCC unveiled their brand new seal, showing a young, vigorous John Wood, looking towards the future.
It also feature images of the Mississippi River, trees, and industry.
The seal was actually designed by one of the students at JWCC.
"It's a great day, the weather was perfect, it's just really cool that my design was chosen and I'm really happy about that," Graphic Design student Bill Beard said. "And (I am) very honored to have this seal to represent the college."
When asked what he's going to do next, Beard joked that he's "going to Disney World!"
