Callahan Calls For Investigation of Schock

Posted:

A candidate running for the Illinois's 18th Congressional district is speaking out about her opponent.

Democrat Colleen Callahan held a news conference this morning, to discuss Aaron Schock's intentional back-dating of documents to avoid paying taxes.

Schock, a republican, allegedly notarized documents with false dates while helping his parents set up tax shelters.

Schock's father revealed the information while testifying in the trial of three people accused of selling sham trusts.

Callahan is asking the Peoria County State's Attorney to investigate whether Schock is guilty of a crime.

"We can not be deceived here, this was not a mistake this was a premeditated act devised to shelter his families fortune from the US government, there is no dispute on this point his father testified to these facts under oath and Aaron Schock is trying to mislead us as voters."

Aaron Schock responded to Callahan's allegations during a recent interview with the Peoria Jounal Star.

He told the newspaper, "The point is what relevance that has to my candidacy for Congress, I don't know. I struggle to find the correlation."
