Quincy Compressor sold to European Company

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM)--The future is uncertain for 180 employees after a European company buys Quincy Compressor.

Late last week Atlas Copco Group bought Quincy Compressor from its parent company, En Pro of Charlotte, North Carolina.

The factory sold for $190 million in cash a sale that's expected to close in the first quarter of next year.

Quincy Compressor designs and makes reciprocating compressors, rotary screw compressors and vacuum pumps. The business has about 400 employees spread over sites in Alabama and Quincy.
