BURLINGTON, Ia (WGEM) -- Burlington police say a man questioned in the death of his mother-in-law is dead and evidence is pointing towards a suicide.
Police say the body of Lathern Painter Jr., was found inside a building in West Branch on Tuesday.
Authorities had questioned Painter about the death of Susan Overton after learning Painter and his estranged wife, Tiffany, owned the home where Overton's body was found.
Overton's death is under investigation as a homicide.
Painter was reported missing by relatives on Monday. His body was taken to a state medical examiners officers for an autopsy, but initial reports indicate suicide as a cause of death.
