QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -- Despite a stormy Friday night in the tri-states, there was hardly a drop of rain to interrupt the opening night of blues in the district in Quincy's Washington Park.
Grady Champion was featured Friday night. He was the 2010 International Blues Challenge winner.
Many people in the park said the summer blues series is something they look forward to year round, and they wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
"Because I like blues music and it's free and majority of my friends are here and it's just fun sitting outside visiting and having a good time," said Harla Friesz.
This is the first of seven shows planned this year by the Historic Quincy Business District.
