Can I receive text alerts on my phone?

The delivery of text (SMS) messages to your phone requires multiple steps and can be impacted by a variety of factors along the way.  By using proper technology and through agreements with carriers, aggregators, and other entities WGEM is able to successfully deliver text messages to the great majority of cellular customers in the viewing area. 

Some of the factors that can have an effect on the delivery of the messages include: your carrier (which is the company through which you purchase your cellular connection), aggregators (which are the companies that receive a large number of text messages from systems like ours, and then send them along to the carriers), our own text message creation and sending system, cellular signal strength (if you are outside of the range of your cellular signal, you may not receive a text message).

A list of supported carriers is found below.  Please note that some small carriers may not be supported in your area.
