Below is a list of the nominees for The Honda/Hyundai's Jason Deters & WGEM SportsCenter Prep Athlete of the Week. The fan vote counts as one vote in the total vote process ... with 10 sports broadcasters/writers submitting ballots as well. The winner will be announced Monday morning at 7:35 on WGEM SportsCenter, ESPN 1440 AM or WGEM.com/sports.

Jan. 23 - Jan. 29

J.J. Chatfield (Marion County) -- Last week's winner did it again as the Mustangs went 3-0 to improve to 15-1 on the year. The junior averaged 18.7 points per game.

Jonah Coggeshall (Central) -- The senior has never failed to show his best at the QND Invitational. Over the weekend, he won his fourth straight title at the event.

DeAngelo Dean (QHS) -- A solid weekend for the Blue Devil led to two important wins. In knocking off East Moline Friday night, Dean went for 19 points and 13 boards. A night later at Champaign Central, the senior added 25 points and 10 rebounds.

Jordan Frericks (QND) -- Another year at the Carrollton Tournament, another title for the Lady Raiders. Frericks played a key part, going for double digits in scoring and rebounds in two of the three games. 

Dalton Hoover (Pittsfield) -- It feels as the games get more and more important, the Saukee big man is getting bigger and bigger. Started the week with a 15-point night at Macomb, then followed it up by going for 35 points at Unity. 

Evan McGaughey (Illini West) -- Started the week off by going for 26 points and seven rebounds in a win at Unity, then followed that with a 19-point performance against Macomb.

Katie Serbin (Palmyra) -- A nice week for the Lady Panthers in a revenge win over Highland, where Serbin had seven rebounds. She led the team with 16 points in a Friday win over Macon.
