Brandon Berhorst (Canton) -- It was a great week for the Tigers, winning the LaPlata Tournament with the sophomore playing a big part. He led the team with 21 points in a huge semifinal win over top-seed Cairo. Then with seconds remaining in the title game, he drilled two free throws for the win.

Jordan Frericks (QND) -- The all-around star went for 15 points and played stellar defense, holding an all-stater to a mere four points, as the Lady Raiders beat Edwardsville, which was ranked third in Class 4A. She went for a game-high 17 points Friday night.

Martin Kvitle (QHS) -- When you go a perfect 12 for 12 from the free throw line one night, then lead the team with 14 points the next in a non-conference win, it's been a good weekend. The junior had 15 points Friday night against Galesburg.

Evan McGaughey (Illini West) -- Key free throws in overtime by the big man helped the Chargers beat state-ranked Monmouth Roseville on Friday, then a day later against West Central he poured in a game-high 20.

Matt McPherson (QND) -- The Raiders needed a spark to end a four-game losing skid and the big guy provided it. Coming off the bench, he went for 13 points and six boards in a Friday win over Marengo. He provided a big spark Saturday against Payson with his first dunk of the year.

Royce Poore (Knox County) -- Winners of six straight, the Eagles and their leading sophomore leader picked up two wins last week. Poore went for 28 points and eight boards against Brashear, then added 25 points and eight rebounds against Putnam County.

Wyatt Proper (South Shelby) -- Not only did the junior win the game two weeks ago in OT versus Centralia, he came back last week with a 16-point performance to knock off Palmyra on its court. The Cardinals beat Monroe City on Friday to improve to 15-4 overall and 3-0 in the CCC with Proper adding 12 points.

Jessica Redd (Marion County) -- Two more games, two more wins for the Lady Mustangs. The senior went for 23 points against Paris and then 30 at Van-Far.

Rachel Rush (Unity) -- The senior had a big Senior Night by scoring career point No. 1,000 against Griggsville-Perry. She added a team-high 14 points in a tough loss to Routt.
