Quincy Parks taking applications for seasonal workers

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM)-- If you're hoping to find a summer job this year, you may want to start filling out applications now.

The Quincy Parks District is already accepting applications for numerous summer positions including lifeguards, baseball umpires, and front desk workers just to name a few.

Officials say the jobs are part-time with a variety of hours, and the jobs tend to be quite popular with high school and college aged students.

"We have about probably 150 to 200 seasonal people that work for us during the summer, now a lot of them are returning people, but we probably hire 30 to 50 new ones each year to filter in for the ones that may have graduated from college and have entered the professional world," said Mike Bruns, Director of Program Services.

The Quincy Parks Department will also be hosting a career fair on March 8th, and officials say you should come dressed and prepared to make a good first impression.
