QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -- Lucy Cramsey will be the first to admit it.

She struggled in the early portion of the season and was hesitant to shoot the basketball.

But, as Quincy University prepares for its final home game later this week, the former Liberty All-Stater is playing with lots of confidence.

Cramsey's game has risen to a whole new level especially after one of her best days as a Lady Hawk over the weekend, she finished with a career high 21 points and added five rebounds in Saturday's victory over Maryville and seems to be peaking.

"It was just a time thing. My freshman year I didn't play really, my sophomore year I came in with a whole bunch of confidence and then got hurt," Cramsey explained.

"This year I've just been taking it one game at a time and I went through a rough patch. There was a whole lot of praying during that time where I was wondering maybe I wouldn't be able to play at this level."

According to head coach Jeni Garber, "She's just been getting better and better. The one thing that I like what she does is she's been calm. She's just been letting the game come to her a little more instead of trying to force the issue which is what she did early on."

Cramsey and the Lady Hawks set their sights on 11 consecutive wins and a possible top seed in the GLVC Tournament when they play host to Illinois-Springfield on Thursday.
