
QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM)-- The Quincy Police Department has arrested 36-year-old Chad E. Payne for allegedly stabbing a 64-year-old man in the abdomen Friday night in Quincy.
Quincy Police, fire and the Adams County EMS responded to a report of a stabbing at 632 N. 5th Street. When responders arrived they found a 64-year-old man who had been stabbed once.
Quincy Police say its unknown at this time why the man was stabbed.
The victim's name hasn't been released, but was taken to Blessing Hospital and is in serious condition.
After an initial investigation, officers arrested Payne at a residence in the 1100 block of North 7th St. in Quincy.
Payne has been charged with Armed Violence and Aggravated Battery and is currently lodged in the Adams County jail.
