Keokuk singer wins Tri-State Idol

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) The Tri-States has a new singing idol. Aaron Zetterlund, age 21 of Keokuk, won Saturday's Tri-State Idol singing competition.

Zetterlund now has a guaranteed audition with American Idol producers on July 12 in Chicago.

The competition Saturday was fierce, with many singers standing out. But now Zetterlund says he's looking forward to his Chicago audition.

"I'm most excited about the opportunity to really go to the next level and show my stuff there. I've done a lot of small area stuff, but I'm excited to broaden that out a little bit," said Zetterlund.

WGEM's Natalie Will emceed the event, and WGEM's Lindsey Hess was one of the judges.
