(WGEM) -- The NFL is a business league, and today many training camp hopefuls found that out the hard way as teams began to trim their rosters for the first round of major cuts.
The Chicago Bears wasted little time today in releasing several players, including former Western Illinois wide receiver Terriun Crump.
Crump saw very little action in their first three preseason games after showing some nice flashes in camp. He was only able to haul in one catch for six yards after being targeted five times.
The news wasn't any better for former Leatherneck running back Herb Donaldson who was cut by the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
Donaldson only saw five carries over the course of the preseason.
Both Donaldson and Crump are now free agents.
