Sept. 6 - Saving money on movie tickets

I love to catch a good movie, but hate paying full price for movie tickets. The good news? I don't have to anymore and neither do you! According to the National Association of Theatre Owners, the average ticket price has nearly doubled over the last 20 years. But you can save with bulk buying. Check out BulkTix.com. You can buy a four pack of tickets and save up to $2-3 dollars per ticket.

In some areas, AAA offers discounted tickets to members. Also, be sure to compare your local theater prices with Sam's Club and Costco prices- it's often cheaper at the warehouse clubs.

Theater loyalty clubs are another money saving option. Earn points with purchase and get free concessions, upgrades and tickets. Some clubs are free, like Regal Crown Club, but AMC's Stubs program does have an annual fee. If you have a drive-in movie theater in your town you could be in store for a great evening and in many cases pay a flat rate per carload rather than a per head price.
