HAMILTON, Ill. (WGEM) -- With a brand new offensive system in place, it was hard to speculate just what would be in store for Brian Lewton's West Hancock Titans in 2012.
After three weeks of putting up 31 points per game, the pass heavy spread has kept opponents off balanced.
"It's a new system, but I'm not surprised at all," said Lewton.
"The kids came out and really bought into it, and now it's rewarding on the game field."
"The key to the success we've had on offense is everyone believing that they can be in the right spot at the right time, and believing the offense can work," added senior quarterback Coy Dorothy.
Dorothy has been the centerpiece to the offense, already racking up nearly 900 yards through the air, and 13 total touchdowns.
"Coy really has a great arm, and he knows where to put the ball," said senior receiver Austin Hardy.
"If he doesn't have anything down field he can definitely run with the ball. He's fast, he's big, and he's strong."
With a dual threat signal caller it's not easy for opponents to key on any one aspect.
"If the coverage breaks down he's able to find to open receiver, and it it's covered he's able to take off running," Lewton expressed.
"It's tough to defend a kid like that."
Even with a fast no huddle attack, the Titans don't make many mistakes, which is a product of fundamentals, and having 11 players on the same page.
It's knowing what you have to do on ever play, executing, and continue to put points on the board no matter what quarter it is," said Austin Hardy.
"It all starts out in having complete trust in my offensive line, knowing that they won't let me get sacked without them trying their hardest," added Coy Dorothy.
"I've got any wide receiver that can catch a ball for me."
Up next for the Titans will be a test at Fuzz Berges field, where they'll meet the Illini West Chargers.
Kickoff on Friday in Carthage is schedule for 7:00 PM.
