The newest two-star general in the U.S. Army National Guard is a Quincy soldier.
Scott Thoele was recently promoted during a ceremony in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Thoele currently serves there as the Army National Guard deputy commanding general.
Thoele led the Quincy-based 33rd Infantry Brigade in training before a year-long mission to Afghanistan.
In his civilian life, he works at First Bankers Trust Company in Quincy.
