Election day is six weeks away, and time is running out for you to be eligible to vote.
September 25th is National Voter Registration Day - which is aimed at encouraging people to prepare to head to the polls.
Adams County Clerk Georgia Volm says her office is expecting around 42 thousand people to cast their ballots this November. She says to register, you simply need to bring identification to the county clerk's office.
The last day to register in Illinois is October 9th.
"It's important for everyone to vote, not just at the federal level but at the local level - and we do have some issues on the ballot locally so that you have people representing you who you trust and who you think will make the best decisions for everybody," says Volm.
Volm says the Saturday before October 9th, she plans to hold additional office hours to accommodate late registrants. The last day to register in Missouri is October 10th, and in Iowa with proper ID, you can register the day you vote.
