Long term strategy plan looks to revitalize uptown Mt. Sterling
The City Limits restaurant in Mt. Sterling has recently updated its outdoor facade as part of the Mt. Sterling uptown revitalization project.
MOUNT STERLING, Ill. (WGEM) -
The city of Mt. Sterling is making some changes to revitalize its uptown area.
It's all part of a long term plan through 2023 to improve the community. Part of the short term plan includes the relocation of the Dot Country store to a new 9,400 square foot location on East Main Street.
Those involved with the city's long term plan hope that the relocation of the Dot Country Store will help draw new businesses and shoppers to the Mt. Sterling uptown area.
Construction on the new Dot Country Store is scheduled to begin in spring 2013 and be completed by the end of the year.
Coming up on WGEM News at Six, we'll tell you more about the future of uptown Mt. Sterling and how local businesses look to capitalize on the long term plan.
