QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -
One in four women will be a victim of domestic violence in her lifetime, and there's a new effort in Quincy to raise awareness of the issue.
Students from Baldwin Elementary decorated the front lawn of Quanada today with signs representing victims of domestic violence.
As part of the campaign, purple light bulbs will be placed on doorsteps on Maine Street throughout the month of October.
An official light up event will be held October 2nd where Mayor John Spring will officially designate October as Domestic Violence Month in Quincy.
