HANNIBAL, Mo. (WGEM) -
In just nine hours, more than 500 people applied for utility assistance through the North East Community Action Corporation.
NECAC officials say $1.1 million is available on a first come, first serve basis, and that money isn't expected to last into the new year.
Monday was the first day for the elderly and the disabled to sign up.
Applications for families will be accepted starting Nov. 1.
