Quincy University hosts mock presidential debate

While the Presidential debate may be a couple days away, Students at Quincy University got a little preview Monday night.

About 150 to 200 students showed up to a mock presidential debate put on by the QU Student Council.

Dr. Justin Coffey presented the viewpoints of Mitt Romney while Dr. Rob Manning presented those of President Obama.

Organizers hope this debate will raise awareness and interest in the real thing on Wednesday.

"For many of our students this is the first time they're eligible to vote in an election, and so this is a great opportunity for us to bring the information to them and use it as a learning opportunity," said Student Affairs Vice President Tiffany Nolan.

The mock candidates spoke on topics ranging from foreign policy to addressing the national economy.
