The Lee County Chapter of the American Red Cross is being consolidated with the Quad Cities Area. But officials say Southeast Iowa residents will not see any changes.
The Red Cross location at 811 Main Street in Keokuk will remain open as a branch office and the phone number will be the same at (319) 524-3215.
The office will be staffed by volunteers, but the hours of operation have not been determined yet.
The consolidation is an effort to cut costs and realign resources.
The Lee County Red Cross will still respond to disasters, offer safety training and other services it has provided for years.
