Some unexpected construction costs forced the Hannibal City Council to look for more money to complete the Stardust Drive Project.
Tuesday night the Hannibal City Council voted to approve nearly $17,000 for the Stardust Project.
Bleigh construction had to move a water line, which cost the city about $15,000. Then they had to lay down storm drains, which cost an additional $1,700.
The work's already been completed, so there won't be any further delays.
But City Engineer Mark Rees says despite the extra unexpected costs, he still expects the project to be completed around mid-December.
"And when we realized we had to relocate the water lines, that set us back a little bit. But now I notice they're working on two fronts, curb and gutter got placed today and drainage work continues on the other side of the project and they're catching up fast it looks like," said Rees.
The city is still below budget on the Stardust project by about $300,000.
