QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

Dozens of parents and students came out to John Wood Community College to get more information on how to choose and prepare for college.

Wednesday night, the community college along with Quincy University and Western Illinois University all gave information ranging from how to pay for college to what to expect in a college classroom.

An advisor for John Wood Community College says he's seeing kids earlier and earlier prepare for college.

"It used to be juniors started looking for college and now it's getting all the way down into freshman year maybe junior high. So it's always good to plant that seed," said Lee Wibbell, an admission advisor for JWCC.

The Illinois College Exposition will be at John Wood Community College on October 17th where over 60 colleges will attend.
