Adams County officials have identified the driver of a vehicle that died Thursday after his truck collided with a train northeast of Camp Point.
Adams County Coroner Jim Keller says 45-year-old Khristoper K. Hunt of Golden died from injuries after a truck he was in collided with a BNSF train at County Road North 2150th Avenue, one half mile west of Illinois 94.
Hunt was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:20 a.m.
Two ambulances, Adams County Sheriff's Department deputies and two fire departments were dispatched to County Road North 2150th Ave. between County Road East 2400th and Ill. 94 around 5:45 a.m.
A BNSF official on the scene says the accident occurred around 5 a.m.
The crossing arms and signal were functioning properly at the time of the crash, according to the Adams County Sheriff's Department.
The eastbound train stalled rail traffic in the area for about four hours.
