HAMILTON, Ill. (WGEM) -
Demolition started Thursday morning on a downtown Hamilton building gutted by fire ten months ago.
The Hamilton City Council approved a $12,000 bid from Hustler Hauling to begin work. They have 30 days to complete the project.
The piles of rubble have sat untouched on the 900 block of Broadway since the fire that killed a five-month-old in January.
No word on the future of the site, but the city has issued two liens on the property.
