St. Francis Solanus Parish in Quincy could soon be expanding.
St. Francis launched their "Building Together in Faith campaign" today, that aims to raise $2.9 million over the next three years.
They'll use the money to build a new parish center on the northwest corner of the church at 17th and Elm.
Officials say the growing congregation and limited amount of space made it apparent that building a new facility was necessary.
"The activities have been relegated primarily to the lower level of the school and also the lower level of our rectory and some of that is not handicap accessible, so we really need more space," said Father Donald Blaeser.
Plans for the new center include a covered canopy drop off, meeting rooms, and a library.
The entire building will be handicap accessible.
