Fire crews containing gas leak near 20th and Maine

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

Fire crews are at work containing a gas leak near 20th and Maine.

The Quincy Fire Department says a 6-inch gas line was ruptured when core drilling struck the pipe.

Several of the nearby businesses were closed for the Columbus Day holiday, but crews did go nearby to other professional buildings and nearby homes in the area to evacuate some people.
