HANNIBAL, Mo. (WGEM) -
From sofas, to mattresses to even televisions, hundreds came to unload their junk Saturday at a city wide clean up in Hannibal.
The City provided the service for free, with the exception of electronics which cost residents only one dollar for each item.
Officials with Allied Waste said today's event was a cheap way to get rid of unwanted items that would normally be pricey to throw out.
"It's a very generous thing that the city does for its citizens. Basically, roll-off, dumpsters can be costly and this gives you the opportunity to get rid of huge amounts of waste," said Susan Lichty of Allied Waste.
