PALMYRA, Mo. (WGEM) -
Work will begin Tuesday on the third and final intersection to get improvements along Highway 61 in Palmyra.
Starting Tuesday morning, Thompson Street will be closed for two to three weeks.
MoDOT crews will be putting in drainage, lighting, new asphalt and guardrails to accommodate for new turn lanes at the intersection.
Traffic will be down to one lane in both directions on Highway 61.
Work is nearly complete on the intersections with Ross and Main Cross.
