Child found in home during Keokuk meth lab bust

KEOKUK, Ia. (WGEM) -

Yet another case of a child found in the home with a suspected meth lab, this time in Keokuk.

Shawn Elder, Jr., 32, and 31-year-old Tiffany Mitchell were arrested Thursday at their home at 1917 William Street.

The Lee County Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant and reportedly found anhydrous ammonia and other meth making materials.

Authorities say DHS is also investigating as a young child was found in the home.

The two suspects face enhanced charges because the home was less than a thousand feet from a public park.
