From Oct. 8 - Oct. 14
Brock Butler (Palmyra) -- The QB threw for three touchdowns and 144 yards, while rushing for another, in the win at home over Mark Twain.
Coy Dorothy (West Hancock) -- The offense was clicking against Princeton as the QB completed 30 of 38 passes for 382 yards and six touchdowns.
Austin Egley (Clark County) -- When they needed him most, the QB did his thing. Trailing South Shelby at the half, Egley scored three of his four rushing touchdowns in the final two quarters to preserve the win. He finished with 252 yards rushing on 18 carries.
Jamie Ehrhart (QND) -- Her fifth-place finish at the Class A State Golf Tournament was enough to lead the Lady Raiders to finish third -- its first team trophy in the program's history.
Devin Gudehus (Knox County) -- A two-run homer in the fifth inning gave the Lady Eagles a cushion to withstand Northeast Cairo's seventh-inning rally and post a 9-6 victory in Saturday's Class 1 state quarterfinal. The Lady Eagles are headed to the state tourney for the first time since 1981.
Brady Long (Brown County) -- The junior halfback kept the Hornets playoff hopes alive by rushing for 214 yards on 13 carries in the win over Greenfield. Scoring a TD in each quarter, it was his 47-yard scamper in the fourth that put the Hornets up for good.
Alexis Van Nostrand (Palmyra) -- The long ball was the theme of the week for Van Nostrand, who hit a home run in the easy sectional win over Elsberry and added a fourth-inning bomb in a 2-1 win over South Callaway in the quarterfinal to once again reach the Class 2 state tourney.
Luke Watson (QND) -- Watson won Saturday's Mid-State Six Conference boys cross country race at Detweiller Park in Peoria in a time of 15 minutes, 54 seconds. The junior recently returned to action after missing a couple weeks with soreness in his hip. Watson's finish on the 3-mile course helped the Raiders place second with 56 points.
