Woman arrested for meth manufacturing

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

A local woman is now facing an aggravated meth production charge after a search was carried out Thursday, Oct. 25 at her residence in Quincy. 

Patricia S. Ahern, 44, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Participation in Methamphetamine Production, a class X felony, after agents seized numerous items used in the shake and bake methamphetamine manufacturing process.

Agents with West Central Illinois Task Force and officer's with the Quincy Police Department conducted the search at 1034 N. 2nd Street, and the charge was aggravated due to a person over 60 years and a person under the age of 18 being in the residence.  

Ahern, who is currently free on bond on a separate Adams County Aggravated Methamphetamine charge, was lodged at the Adams County Jail. 

Task force Master Sergeant Patrick Frazier reports that the Department of Children and Family Services was notified of the child being present during the search. 

A separate investigation will be initiated regarding the child.
