Over a hundred people run for veterans in Tri-State Warrior Dash

Over a hundred people ran for a patriotic cause Saturday morning in Quincy.

The Tri-State Warrior Outreach Program hosted it's first annual run/walk event.

The money raised at today's event helps to pay for utilities, rent, and food that veterans might not be able to afford otherwise.

Organizers said the program started because they saw a need for veteran assistance in the area.

"The veterans in remote areas like this that aren't close to large bases seem to need a little more help than most. Out here, since we've been out here, both myself and Sergeant Nickel notice that veterans come into our station all the time and ask for help," said organizer Aaron Patrick.

Titan International helped the cause by presenting the group with a five thousand dollar check.
