A new building for Moberly Community College in Hannibal is just months away from becoming a reality.
Wednesday afternoon a groundbreaking was held at the new location on Highway MM and Shinn Lane.
College President Evelyn Jorgenson says the big advantage this new facility will have is space - as they have outgrown their current place in the AT and T building.
She says this will include classrooms, lecture halls, and labs - and that the students are looking forward to these amenities.
"Oh, they're thrilled! College students want to go to a facility that looks like a college and feels like a college, and they want to have the classroom space that they need, and the student commons area and the library - all the things that we've talked about, and so they're excited because it's going to be brand new and it's going to be theirs," she said.
Current enrollment at the MACC facility in Hannibal is over three hundred students.
