Community honors veterans at Veteran's Day parade

Hundreds turned out Saturday morning for Quincy's Veteran's Day parade down Main Street to honor those who have served our country.

Veterans from several different wars walked down the parade route as people cheered for them.

Some veterans said it is important for children to come to these parades to understand what veterans have gone through.

"Children growing up now should know what some of these veterans went through, the hardships of the wars,"  said veteran Wayne Greep.

WGEM staff handed out candy and collected toys for Toys For Tots while marching down the parade route.

The parade ended with a flyover by a B-25 aircraft.
